The Madrid Grand Prix Guide

This year, a brand new Grand Prix is on the FORMULA 1 calendar: the Madrid Grand Prix. Tickets for this event are now on sale! In this article, we provide you with the latest information about the newest circuit on the F1 calendar: the Circuito de Madrid. On this page, we share useful ticket tips to help you choose the best spots for this spectacular new race!

The new Madrid circuit

The Circuito de Madring is the newest addition to the Formula 1 calendar and will make its debut in 2026. This brand new circuit is located in the Spanish capital, Madrid, and measures 5.4 kilometers in length with a total of 22 corners. Expected lap times are around 1 minute and 34 seconds. The circuit is currently still under construction to prepare everything for the race weekend in the second week of September. That’s when FORMULA 1 will race on Madrid’s asphalt for the first time. The Circuito de Madring will feature significant elevation changes, making it a challenging street circuit. The steepest banked corner will reach 24%, slightly less than the 32% banking at Zandvoort. In addition to Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 will also make their debut on the Circuito de Madring.

Recta Principal

The Recta Principal is the most expensive ticket category at the Circuit of Madrid and includes the Gold 1 and Gold 2 grandstands. The Gold 1 Grandstand is the main stand of the Circuito de Madring. From here, you have an excellent view of the final corner, the starting grid, and a good overview of the pit lane. Directly next to Gold 1 is the Gold 2 Grandstand, located between start/finish and Turns 1 and 2. From this stand, you enjoy a perfect view of the action in the first two corners. Which will give you a clear sight of the race start. Both the Gold 1 and Gold 2 Grandstands are covered, making them the most comfortable and exclusive places to experience the race.

Alta Velocidad

The Alta Velocidad category consists of three different grandstands: the Bronze 3 Grandstand, Bronze 4 Grandstand, and Silver 5 Grandstand. The Bronze 3 Grandstand is located on the straight between Turns 3 and 4. From this stand, you will have an excellent view of Turn 3 and a large part of the straight, where the cars race by at full speed. The Bronze 4 Grandstand is situated just before the combination of Turns 5 and 6. From here, you get a clear view of the entry into Turn 5, where drivers must brake hard after one of the fastest sections of the Madrid circuit. The Silver 5 Grandstand offers a fantastic view of Turns 5 and 6. These are two flowing corners that form a high-speed chicane, making it one of the most dynamic sections of the circuit.

Chicane

The Chicane category includes three grandstands: Bronze 6, Silver 7, and Silver 8. The Bronze 6 Grandstand is located at Turn 10. From this stand, you have a good view of Turns 10 and 11, which feature an elevation change as they lead toward the banking of Turn 12. The Silver 7 Grandstand is situated next to Bronze 6 and provides an excellent view of Turns 10, 11, and the entry to Turn 12, one of the most unique corners on the circuit. On the inside of the track is the Silver 8 Grandstand, offering clear sightlines to Turns 10 and 11, as well as a good view of Turn 12.

Peraltada Monumental

The Peraltada Monumental category features four of the best grandstands at the Circuito de Madring: Gold 9, Silver 10, Silver Plus 11, and Silver 12. The Gold 9 Grandstand is located on the inside of Le Monumental (Turn 12), the most famous corner on the circuit. It features a 24% banking. On the outside of Le Monumental is the Silver 10 Grandstand, which offers fantastic views of the banking at Turn 12 as well as Turn 11, thanks to its elevated position. Next to Silver 10 is the Silver Plus 11 Grandstand, providing clear sightlines to the banking of Turn 12 and Turn 11 across the track; the Silver Plus grandstands are covered. Adjacent to Silver Plus 11 is the Silver 12 Grandstand, offering views of Turn 12 and Turn 13, a sharp left-hand corner.

Curvas Enlazadas

The Curvas Enlazadas category features four grandstands: Silver Plus 13, Bronze 14, Bronze 15, and Silver 16. The Silver Plus 13 Grandstand is located at Turn 13, offering good views of Turn 13 and, across the track, Turn 10 and 11. Next to Silver Plus 13 is the Bronze 14 Grandstand, which provides clear sightlines to Turn 14 and the start of Turn 15, though views beyond are partially blocked by the adjacent stand. The next stand is Bronze 15, one of the largest grandstands at Circuito de Madring. Depending on your seat location, you can see Turns 15, 16, and 17; seats on the far right offer views of Turns 14 and 15, while seats on the far left have no view of these two corners.

Transport to Madrid

Getting to the Circuito de Madring is easy thanks to its central location in Madrid and excellent public transport connections. The circuit is easily accessible by metro—take Line 8 and get off at Feria de Madrid station for access to the southern entrance of the track. This metro line also provides a direct connection to Madrid-Barajas Airport. You can also reach the circuit by train: Line C1 runs towards Valdebebas, offering direct access to the venue. Several bus lines stop around the circuit, which makes it convenient to reach your grandstand. Taxis have a designated drop-off and pick-up area near the track for quick access. Arriving by car is also possible, but keep in mind that parking is not directly next to the circuit, meaning you’ll need to walk a bit to reach your grandstand.
