The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is the home of the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimão. The circuit is commonly known as the Algarve International Circuit or simply the Portimão Circuit. In addition to the race circuit, the complex includes a karting track, technology park, five star hotel, sports facilities and apartments.
Construction of the circuit was completed in October 2008. The venue was approved by the FIM on 11 October 2008 and received FIA approval shortly afterwards.
The Portimão Circuit is 4.692 kilometres long and features 16 corners. The Portuguese Grand Prix is held over 66 laps. The circuit is particularly famous for its significant elevation changes, which give the track its distinctive rollercoaster character.
On 25 July 2020, the FIA announced that Portimão would host the Portuguese Grand Prix from 23 to 25 October. The race was added to the revised Formula 1 calendar after several Grands Prix were cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Lewis Hamilton won the race ahead of Valtteri Bottas, while Max Verstappen finished third. For Verstappen, it was his 40th podium finish in Formula 1.
In February 2021, it was announced that Portugal would fill the third race weekend of the Formula 1 season. This meant that the Portuguese Grand Prix returned to Portimão for a second consecutive year.
Max Verstappen finished the race in second place between the two Mercedes drivers. Lewis Hamilton claimed victory and secured his 97th Formula 1 win, while his teammate Valtteri Bottas completed the podium in third place.
After several years away from the Formula 1 calendar, the Portuguese Grand Prix will return in 2027. Both the 2027 and 2028 editions will take place at the spectacular Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, bringing Formula 1 back to one of the most distinctive circuits in Europe.
All circuits nowadays use E-tickets. This means that we receive the tickets digitally from the circuit and can also send them to you digitally. We will upload the tickets to your account no later than 7 days prior the race weekend, you can download the tickets from your Account area. We recommend printing E-tickets, if these are in pdf format, and bringing them to the circuit. This will facilitate a smoother entry process at the circuit gate.
Some VIP tickets remain physical and need to be collected on sight or will be shipped to your homeaddress.

Yes, if you book tickets for the same grandstand in one order, you are guaranteed to be seated together. If you have made two separate bookings and still want to sit together, this can be arranged in some cases. If you send an email to info@raceexperiences.com mentioning the two order numbers, our travel specialists will look into whether this can still be organized.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide the exact location of your seats on the grandstand yet, as the seating arrangement is based on all sold tickets. You will know exactly which seats have been reserved for you at the time of delivery.
