Suzuka Circuit is located 50 kilometers southwest of Nagoya. It is the only circuit on the F1 calendar with an 8-shaped layout. The circuit is 5,807 meters long and consists of 18 turns.
The challenges of some of these corners, such as the famous 130R and the fast S-turns. They provide the FORMULA 1 drivers with plenty of entertainment during the Suzuka GP. The Japanese Grand Prix takes place on the Suzuka Circuit since 1987.
Honda built this circuit, as a test track, in 1962. The designer is John Hugenholtz, a Dutch man. Since then, the circuit had several changes for safety reasons.
The circuit is part of Motopia. A large amusement park with swimming pools, golf courses, hotels, and a theme park.

F1 drivers absolutely adore this track. They also love the great atmosphere surrounding the Japanese F1 Grand Prix at Suzuka. The Japanese FORMULA 1 fans are perhaps the most fanatical supporters in the world. F1 in Japan is therefore exceptional and unique to its kind.
Because the race in Japan is always at end of the season, there have been several decisions for the title in the past.
Especially famous is the iconic battle between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in 1989. Senna had his teammate Prost retire in 1989. The officials disqualified the Brazilian, but the Frenchman continued to win the global championship. The same thing happened a year later, but then Senna became world champion instead of Prost.
