Japanese Grand Prix – A brief history of F1 at Suzuka

F1 drivers absolutely adore this track. They also love the great atmosphere surrounding the Japanese F1 Grand Prix at Suzuka. The Japanese FORMULA 1 fans are perhaps the most fanatical supporters in the world. F1 in Japan is therefore exceptional and unique to its kind.

Because the race in Japan is always at end of the season, there have been several decisions for the title in the past.

Especially famous is the iconic battle between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in 1989. Senna had his teammate Prost retire in 1989. The officials disqualified the Brazilian, but the Frenchman continued to win the global championship. The same thing happened a year later, but then Senna became world champion instead of Prost.
