In 1952, the F1 Zandvoort race was part of the official FORMULA 1 World Championship for the first time. Almost every year until the mid-1980s, the Dutch Grand Prix would be part of FORMULA 1 heritage.
The Dutch Grand Prix was known as a race in which the drivers’ skills were heavily relied upon. Particularly, the Tarzan corner provided a good opportunity for overtaking maneuvers. This corner is at the end of the main straight in Zandvoort.
The race returned in the 2021 F1 season under the name Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. The last corner of the circuit is perfect for overtaking. The Circuit Park Zandvoort measures 4,307 meters in length and has 13 curves.
The circuit of Zandvoort lies in the middle of the dunes. It has relatively short straights. One would be naturally afraid of a second Monaco. There, overtaking is almost impossible on the F1 calendar.
