F1 welcomes you to Miami!
Making its F1 debut in May 2022, the Miami International Autodrome is a temporary circuit, but designed to have a permanent appearance. The track is located in the Hard Rock Stadium complex in Miami Gardens, home of the NFL’s famed Miami Dolphins franchise atmosphere on the street circuit, similar to Melbourne’s Albert Park.
The first Miami Grand Prix took place in 2022. The Florida GP joins its Texas counterpart in Austin to become the second American Grand Prix on the F1 calendar.
What does the circuit look like?
The street circuit is spectacular. With the Hard Rock Stadium as its epicenter, the 5.41 km track will. Featuring a whopping 19 bends, three straights, potential for three DRS zones and an estimated top speed of 320 km/h. There are also elevation changes, the most significant between turns 13 and 16, where the track goes over a ramp and under several flyovers over uneven terrain. The turn 14-15 chicane has an upward approach, with a crest in the middle, then drops on exit.
Why Miami’s F1 should not be missed…
The Hard Rock Stadium knows how to put on a show. It has already hosted six Super Bowls, two Baseball World Series and countless rock concerts. The stadium at the heart of an F1 circuit is also a masterstroke by the organizers. The track is designed to encourage wheel-to-wheel racing while meeting the highest safety standards. F1 spectators are therefore the real winners in Miami.
Then there’s Miami itself: famous for its sandy beaches, Art Deco atmosphere, vibrant multiculturalism and rich sports heritage. Miami Florida is an unmissable destination for those visiting the Sunshine State.
Where is the best place to sit?
When watching a sporting event in a purpose-built stadium, it’s hard to go wrong. You could even walk across the top deck of the Hard Rock Stadium and see every corner of the track – quite unique. As for the best overtaking spots, a seat near Turn 1, 11 or 17 should put you right in the middle of the track action.
